The Northwoods Outdoor Learning Academy (NOLA) exists for the purpose of partnering with parents to assist with the educational needs of their children through quality, experiences in the outdoors. Our goal is to bring their children’s education to life and encourage them to never stop learning and exploring our world.
The Northwoods Outdoor Learning Academy is a program of the Northern Lakes Impact Center, an educational non-profit organization located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
NOLA runs September through May. We meet one Tuesday a month for ages 7-12.

Our Classes
Our educational classes have been developed through a combined 50 years of experience of our founders and director. These classes have been adapted to most age levels and cover the state standards of education for Wisconsin. Some of these classes include:

Mini NOLA
Mini NOLA is a once-a-month enrichment program for children ages 5-7. This program is designed to provide young learners with a full day of creative exploration, hands-on learning, and meaningful connection. Each Session offers a thoughtfully structured experience centered around Art, Sensory Play, Literature-Based Learning, Music and Movement, and Outdoor Play. Pack a lunch and join us for a day full of adventure and fun!
Mini NOLA meets at the same time as NOLA.
