The Northwoods Outdoor Learning Academy (NOLA) exists for the purpose of partnering with parents to assist with the educational needs of their children through quality, experiences in the outdoors. Our goal is to bring their children’s education to life and encourage them to never stop learning and exploring our world.
The Northwoods Outdoor Learning Academy is a program of the Northern Lakes Impact Center, an educational non-profit organization located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
NOLA runs September through April. We meet one Tuesday a month.
NOLA is for ages 8-12.
Mini NOLA caters to younger students, ages 5-7.
NOLA Advanced is available to ages 13-17.

NOLA Classes
Our educational classes have been developed through a combined 50 years of experience of our founders and director. These classes have been adapted to most age levels and cover the state standards of education for Wisconsin.

Mini NOLA
Mini NOLA is a once-a-month program designed to provide young learners with a full day of creative exploration, hands-on learning, and meaningful connection. This year we are exploring Amazing Animals and where to find them! Pack a lunch and join us for a day full of adventure and fun!
Mini NOLA meets at the same time as NOLA.

NOLA Advanced
We have had a blast watching the NOLA students grow over the years and we just couldn't say goodbye! NOLA Advanced is designed for older students that have aged out of the normal NOLA program. Students will get a chance to challenge themselves with more advanced activities and opportunities to learn new skills. Classes offered will take what they've learned in NOLA and step it up!
