Northern Lakes Impact Center
The Northern Lakes Impact Center is
dedicated to providing quality Environmental Education, Teambuilding
and Training programs. Our main office is located at our primary
partner-camp facility in northern Wisconsin. The Northern Lakes
Impact Center does not own or operate its own camps; instead, we
partner with camps that have facilities which enable us to provide
programs that meet the needs of our students.

The camp at Lake Beauty is home to a
diverse combination of wildlife and ecosystems. While attending an
Environmental Education program, students will have the chance to
study raptors in flight, track deer along the lakes edge and observe
a wide range of animals, including bats, beavers, owls, red fox,
rabbits, turkeys, eagles, and wolves. Ecosystems available for study
include converted farmland, coniferous and deciduous forests, a
247-acre lake, a stream and bog area, and 450 acres of wilderness.

The Impact Centers comprehensive
curriculum focuses on educational concepts geared to meet the
Wisconsin Model Academic Standards,
Minnesota Academic Standards and the
Michigan Education
Assessment Program (MEAP) standards.
Students will discover that
learning comes naturally as they work with their professional
instructors to explore the outdoor settings throughout the 450+
acre site. Our program encourages active participation in each
study session, including hands-on experiments combined with
first-hand experience. |
In addition to environmental studies,
schools can choose to include social outcomes in their curriculum.
With classes like Initiatives, Low Ropes, High Ropes Course and Climbing Tower, schools can design programs
that will teach students conflict-resolution skills, enhance
self-esteem and develop leadership potential.
